A multifunctional agricultural business project was born from the countryside of Castiadas, in a vast and rich territory, with its 13 kilometers of coastline considered one of the most beautiful stretches of Sardinia, characterized by a succession of scenarios of white sand and dazzling colours.
Going up the coast, starting from the border with Villasimius and the marine area of Capo Carbonara, you come across Cala Pira, a jewel of absolute value, a corner of paradise protected by a promontory on which the tower of the same name is perched, soft dunes are surrounded by granites and scented with centuries-old junipers, myrtle, mastic and Mediterranean scrub.
Further north, another pearl, Cala Sinzias, with two kilometers of soft, very white sand, a clear seabed and waters with various shades of blue.
Behind it, dense vegetation, mastic and myrtle reign supreme.
As a backdrop to the coast there is the mountainous profile of the Oasi dei Sette Fratelli, a valuable naturalistic park.
A triumph of nature made of reliefs with rocks shaped by time, and woods inhabited by rare animal species, such as deer and mouflon.
CHERVU means “DEER” and is a business project that has its origins and founds its roots in this wonderful territory.
CHERVU wants to be part of a sustainable and circular economy model, which is based on agri-food, on local manufacturing, as represented by the Sardinian embroidery stitch at the bottom of the brand, starting from the identity and valorisation of a territory with its precious landscape resources.
RECOGNITIONS
In just 5 years, from 2018 to 2023, we have created a selection of spirits, most recently the RISERVA MYRTLE DISTILLATE, obtaining important recognition at both a regional and national level.
For two consecutive years, 2020 and 2021, we won in the “SPIRITS” category of the Sardinia Food Awards, in 2021 also the best packaging award, with the patronage of the Regional Department of Agriculture and the Ministry for Agricultural Policies and Forestry (MIPAAF).
With MYRTLE DISTILLATE, we obtained the maximum rating of four stars in the Top 50 Spirits Italia selection of Spirito Autoctono 2021 edition, special insert of the Guide Vini Buoni d’Italia of the Touring Club Italiano.
The jury of Spirito Autoctono considered us not only a regional excellence, but also one of the 50 Italian excellences, stating “a reward for the work you have carried out in the name of the region and the terroir you belong to, for a result in the bottle of one one of the most balanced spirits, made up of recognizable and authentic flavours, capable of telling a concrete story on the palate”.
The magazine Gambero Rosso, with MYRTLE DISTILLATE, dedicated a mention to us in the January 2022 monthly magazine, on the subject of distillation, in the “IL GENIO ITALIANO” section.
In 2023 we obtained the Special Mention in the “SPIRITS” category at the Italy Food Awards, awarded ex aequo with the category winner, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF).
At the Italy Food Awards 2024, with the RISERVA MYRTLE DISTILLATE, we regained the Special Mention in the “SPIRITS” category and also the Special Award “INNOVATION AND TERRITORY”, placing this RISERVA distillate not only among the best on the national scene, but also as highly innovative product linked to its territory.

SPIRITS
PREMIUM SELECTION
Our spirits are in PREMIUM SELECTION and are characterized by the first choice of raw materials grown on the company.
We use a higher quality wine alcohol than the neutral alcohol from molasses or cereals present in most spirits on the market.
We use fine glass bottles with a content of 500 ml and a dry weight of 600 g, silk-screened with the precious PLATINUM and PURE GOLD on both the front and back.
MYRTLE ELIXIR
Maximum expression of myrtle in terms of organoleptic and aromatic properties.
Obtained with the cold compound processing technique, it is a demi-sec, it has a certain body, a persistent color, released by the skins of the berries present in high content.

BLENDED MYRTLE DISTILLATE
Long and persistent aromatic bouquet, with notes of Mediterranean undergrowth.
Obtained with a blend of distilled and compound processes.

RISERVA MYRTLE DISTILLATE
It is characterized by its complexity, due to the refinement of 12 months, of which 6 months in an oak barrique, already used for an important reserve red wine, which represents an emblem of the history of Sardinian viticulture and oenology.
Olfactory notes that elegantly reveal the undergrowth of Mediterranean scrub in which myrtle is present, followed by the fine aromas of the wood in which the superior reserve wine has aged, which is characterized by being rich, warm, soft, with fruity notes, spicy, and tannins of rare elegance.
Its ruby red color evolves with straw yellow notes and amber reflections.
A symposium of finesse and elegance not only olfactory, but also visual, make this important RISERVA distillate unique in its kind in the regional and national panorama. With the Special Mention and Special Award for Innovation and Territory, Spirits category, at the Italy Food Awards 2024, it was recognized not only as one of the best spirits on the national scene, but also as an innovative product strongly linked to its territory.

THE FOUNDER
Filippo Murru was born in Cagliari on 26 July 1978.
In 2016 he started his agricultural activity as a Professional Agricultural Entrepreneur in the Castiadas countryside, with the acquisition of an area of 10 hectares, and carried out a project to enhance the medicinal plants of the Mediterranean scrub such as myrtle, mastic and mastic. olive tree, already present spontaneously in the company and in the surrounding area.
In 2018 he founded the CHERVU brand and started the production of the first Sardinian MYRTLE DISTILLATE in two variants, promoting its launch on the market.
In 2021 the production of the first Sardinian MEDITERRANEAN DISTILLATE began, the TRILOGY MEDITERRANEAN SPIRIT, a mixture of three distinct distillates, myrtle, mastic and olive.
2021 also sees the birth on the market of the first demi sec myrtle COLD COMPOUND, THE MYRTLE ELIXIR, a unique and innovative product of its kind, capable of enhancing all the organoleptic and aromatic properties of myrtle.
2023 sees the creation of a RISERVA MYRTLE DISTILLATE, which represents a tribute to the successes achieved, and a fixed point in the evolution and growth of the farm, and in the process of refining the productions considered to be of excellence.
